Description
My love for these large ocean liners goes back to my childhood when we crossed the Atlantic to settle in North America. It took two weeks and even survived a nasty North Atlantic storm but that didn't deter my love for the water, I've owned various boats since then. The golden age of travel was during the early half of the 20th century in great ocean liners like the Leviathan, ships like White Star's Titanic or the Majestic which traveled the Atlantic between Europe and NY where the state of the art in transportation. Upon the end of WWI some German ships were seized for war reparations, the US got the Vaterland & renamed her the Leviathan.
The prize however was not capitalized on as few people wanted to travel on her due to the US prohibition. This kind of travel was usually reserved for the wealthy who had many choices, chief amongst them was the French liners like the Isle de France one of the best rated ocean liners of its day.

Love this. Looks like the White Star Majestic. In those days, it was an event to travel. Have you ever done the White Star Teutonic or Majestic? White Star ships had beautiful lines. They were just a little accident prone.
