Description
Fishing is one of man's favourite past time. The suspence of catching that big one is addictive. This scene is of Muskoka Falls an area north of Toronto that has become Ontario's cottage country. Lake Muskoka, Lake Joseph and surrounding places have some of the most palatial summer homes, yet within earshot are places like this.
Not far is the Trent Severn Waterway a series of interconnected rivers, lakes and locks where one can take considerable size boats from eastern Lake Ontario to the rock strewn shores of Georgina Bay and linger at the various marinas along the way. I tried to capture the natural granite outcrops that define much of this landscape's character along with a misty feeling that seemed to add to the over all scene.

Very nice, Michael - yes you have captured the granite rocks and the feeling of the landscape perfectly. And I sure wish I was fishing with this fellow right now ! Still so cold and damp here and snow on the ground. Waiting patiently for this scene in a reality format and not just on canvas. ;) great work !

This is a terrific painting! Love the sense of being alone with nature but not lonely:>)
