Description
While having lunch in a typical outdoor cafe in the old quarter of Antibes, France I noticed how the slight summer breeze was swaying the curtain in the window in and out and just had to paint it. I used a transparent dry brush technique on the curtain and added a few design elements to simulate embroidery as I wanted to create a light wispy feeling for this element. The pale blue complimented the natural warm stone and plaster work which much of these Mediterranean towns are built with. The overgrown balcony became the perfect element to help anchor the paintings balance.
