Sunday after the drag races we would all meet at the local Burger Joint and compare timing slips which always seemed to show better numbers than earlier at the drag strip. Growing up in America in the 1960's was almost magical, it was a time when jobs where everywhere, gas prices where around 30 cents a gallon and burger joints where the social hub of every community.
Carhops where to flirt with, hot cars where to be shown off and the local radar traps where to be avoided at all costs.
Obviously things weren't perfect but when you are a teenager in the 50's and 60's the real world didn't matter that much as long as your car ran and you had enough money for gas.

Then again, "You can never go back" is a popular saying which is true. However it is the nature of the human brain's complexity which allows us to look longingly to the past which in many people triggers lost memories and emotions that seem to have long disappeared.
