A warm cosy place to wait out winter. In these parts, winter can be cold and long, it helps to have a solid warm house to shelter oneself against the elements. This classic stone house was built in the mid 1800's and has had many owners since then, it is reputed to have been owned by the president of General Motors in the early part of the twentieth century but today serves as a horse farm where they breed Trotters and Standardbreds.
This style of building is quite common around here, many where built by imported Scottish stone masons who later settled in these parts and continued to build some of the larger local estates. This piece was a commissioned painting.
