Artist's Description
Waiting for the evening social crowd. After a long day walking through some of the narrow streets of Rome I stumbled upon this back street cafe getting ready for the evening crowd. Evening is a time to sit and reflect the past days and meet new friends while my Italian is not very good, friendship seems to have a universal language of hand gestures and facial expressions which can get you by in most countries. I probably couldn't find this spot again if I wanted to but I would recommend it to any one who is fortunate to stubble upon it as the food and atmosphere was superb. I made some colour notes and a marker sketch and later finished the painting in my studio.

My new favourite of yours, Michael. Mesmerizing perspective and if the wine had anything to with it (response to Talya's comment), keep it up! lol F/V

Michael, this is a true masterpiece of oil painting at its best! Just love the quaintness and warmth exuded from this beauty, as it looks like where we spent an evening of Italian style bistro and vino while we were in Rome, during the World Cup Soccer Championship, a few years back. Thanks for the beauty and sharing of some lovely memories, Michael! This is one awesome piece of beautiful art work! Fave and Vote

You created a lot of excitement by exaggerating the angles and colors. Beautiful!
Michael Swanson replied:
Thanks Talya and all, I think the wine had something to do with the angle Lol :)
