Artist's Description

This is an oil painting I did after reading Dean's legacy. James the lonely bad boy was a persona he developed with his cool sideways glances at the Hollywood cameras, the iconic black & white shots of him in NY city or the ones leaning against an old wall with a straw in his mouth was the coolest of cool in his day.
***************************************************James Dean became famous when cast in the film Rebel Without a Cause, it typecast his roles until his premature death September 30, 1955. while on his way to a race in Salinas, CA when he crashed into Donald Tunupseed's Ford. His Porche 550 Spider nicknamed "Little Bastard" personified his spirit for speed that lives in all of us at times.
