A wonderful French window with bright blue shutters greeted me as I turned the corner in Saint Tropez, the sunlight caught the potted flowers just right. People of France have created an art form using windows like these. The Cote du Azure has some of the most beautiful sunlight areas in Europe, each time I visit the Riviera I want o move there. Sunlight makes a painting come alive, it brings out the purity of colours and creates contrast that helps to the illusion of depth in any scene. Morning sunlight does this best while afternoon light is warmer as it has to travel trough more and more atmosphere eliminating blue, until the evening allows only the yellow and reds to bathe the landscape.
