North America has some of the best landscapes in the world, from the Gulf of Mexico to the tundra of Alaska, from the Catskills to Muskoka, majestic views abound. The daytime moon on peaceful reflective waters makes a relaxing view. I have called this piece by different titles because it represents an ideal landscape I wanted to convey which can be found in many natural locations throughout the world.
In painting this scene I wanted to convey the importance of the planet's simple natural wonders. Created by hand before the internet's all reaching eye allowed people to see all the wonders of this world from a comfortable living room chair, I do however still think it competes well in its own beauty against some of the phenomenal world location shots which have now almost become mainstream images in our digital age.
