Artist's Description

While exploring the hills north of Vence, France, I came across this abandoned cafe in the small hillside village of Coursegoules which sits high up in the Alps Maritimes hills above Cannes in the South of France. During my month long one man show in Vence, I had ample opportunity to explore the area's landscape and its many small towns and villages. Being told that there was a great restaurant waiting for those willing to brave the small mountain roads I headed up to find this place of French gastronomic delight. After many twists and turns, I finally arrived in this tiny mountain village only to find that place had closed a month earlier, so I did what any self respecting artist would do, got out my paints and made the trip worth wile.
