Artist's Description
This piece is a good example of my quest to create an ambiance and an emotional feeling without just a pretty painting of an actual place. What more can one ask for than good food, good wine and friends in a relaxed atmosphere like the Bistros of Paris or any of the other great world locations.
During my show in the south of France I looked forward to the evening's social scene at many of the Riviera's local cafes where one could meet all kinds of fascinating characters who's tales never ceased to amaze and entertain me. Firsthand accounts of local corruption, greed and folly where always the most interesting. Along with just plain people watching I can spent my remaining days and summer's evening in these local starlight enclaves.

This a wonderful image... the colors, contrast, and overall technique work so well together. One can look at this image simply for its aesthetics, but from a technical point of view, it is obvious that it was crafted by an experienced hand. Voted.
