Artist's Description

Bay Street is the centre of Toronto's Financial District and is often used to refer to Canada's financial industry. Bay and King Street was home to Toronto's major newspapers: the Mail Building, the old Toronto Star Building, and the William H. Wright Building (old Globe and Mail headquarters) were all located near the intersection.
Old City Hall is a landmark and towering in the centre of this painting and home to the city council from 1899 to 1966.
